Random bit of information I've been forgetting to write about:
The water pump in our village has been broken for going on a month now. This means that those with running water (including our school) have been without for quite a while. I have a well in front of my house which we use since we don't have running water so it doesn't affect me at home. Some of the people with running water do not have wells near their homes so it's difficult to bring water into their homes. It's a HUGE problem for our school because no one can wash their hands after using the outhouse. I'm going to the mayor tomorrow to see if there is someone I can speak with in Chisinau about our problem. I get the feeling that the community doesn't have the resources (money) to pull together to fix the pump. It's extremely unsanitary and needs to be resolved.
